Devil's Slide, not to be confused with Devil's Gate, lies a few miles east of Taggarts on the Union Pacific's Weber Canyon line. Described by Wikipedia as "two parallel limestone strata that have been tilted to the vertical," it was a popular scenic landmark for riders on the adjacent Union Pacific.
