New York Central [Penn Central]
Batavia, New York
March 9, 1976

Just east of Batavia, New York the New York Central's four track mainline (now down to three) crosses Tonawanda Creek on this massive bridge. In less than a month the unfortunate (and bankrupt) Penn Central, successor to the New York Central and the Pennsylvania, will be swallowed up by the newly-formed Conrail. This view is looking west from the Creek Road bridge.
