Grand Trunk Western
Blue Island, Illinois (Blue Island Crossing)
May 31, 1973

Here, seen from the highway watch tower, we see Blue Island Crossing laid out in all its glory. Taking the bridges (over the Calumet Sag Channel) from left to right we see: the Indiana Harbor Belt connector to the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific (behind the camera); the Indiana Harbor Belt itself; the Grand Trunk Western connector to the Rock Island; the GTW mainline, and the Baltimore & Ohio Chicago Terminal. The GTW caboose hop is southbound. The Blue Island Crossing tower can be seen just to the right of the caboose.
