At Rollinsville, Colorado the Moffat Road is only a few feet higher than Boulder Creek (visible at the extreme left), but from here on east the creek will fall far faster than the rails, so that by the time the track exits the canyon of Boulder Creek to descend the Front Range into Denver it will be far above the water. From here west to the Moffat Tunnel the two will run pretty much side by side.
