Belt Railway of Chicago
Chicago, Illinois (Forest Hill Crossing)
June 18, 1972

Two cabooses simultaneously clatter through Chicago's Forest Hills crossing as the afternoon light grows deeper. The Penn Central transfer caboose (no. 18467) is on former Pennsylvania rails, but the Belt Railway of Chicago run appears to be heading south on the Baltimore & Ohio. The rails in the foreground are joint BRC/Chesapeake & Ohio, while those under the PC gondola belong to the former Wabash (now Norfolk & Western).
