Belt Railway of Chicago
Chicago, Illinois (Forest Hill Crossing)
June 18, 1972

It was difficult in the seventies to roam around Chicago without encounting the black, gray and yellow units of the Belt Railway of Chicago. Here at Forest Hill Crossing we again see one of The Belt's many Alcos heading west on shared BRC/Chesapeake and Ohio shared trackage, crossing the Pennsylvania (Penn Central) rails and about to cross the Baltimore & Ohio. Barely visible off to the right is the Wabash (Norfolk & Western), at this time still hosting a daily commuter run.
