Bessemer & Lake Erie
Conneaut, Ohio
March 27, 1970

One of the many highlights of a ride on the New York Central between Ashtabula, Ohio and Buffalo, New York was this quick glimpse from the Central's high stone arch bridge of the Bessemer & Lake Erie's massive ore facility just east of Conneaut, Ohio. The Bessemer's double-track main and Conneaut Creek are below. You had to be quick on the trigger to get this on film, as the Central's passenger trains were usually moving at a very good clip by this time. Lake Erie is in the far distance.
