Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Chicago, Illinois (Ash Crossing)
July 27, 1971

The Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe's eastbound Texas Chief clatters through Chicago's Ash Crossing on its way to Union Station. Although operated by Amtrak since May 1, the train appears unchanged at this time.

Lionel's version of these warmonnet F A & B units were every boy's dream back in the late fifties and early sixties. The photographer owned a set, and can testify that they were heavy. Also tough, as they survived several falls to the floor without apparent damage.
