One of the unfortunate effects of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe merger of 1996 was the replacement of the classic Santa Fe signal bridges with the new Safetrans-type signals. Here east of Seligman, Arizona a signal bridge lies on its side awaiting scrapping while an eastbound freight passes.
